Summary of the PSA spring meeting.
On 11 March 2025, Extral representatives took part in the spring meeting of members and partners of the Polish Aluminium Association.
Together with leaders of the Polish aluminium market, we discussed challenges resulting from the dynamically changing economic and political environment.
An important part of the meeting were expert presentations. Paul Voss, Director General of European Aluminium, discussed key actions to protect the European aluminium sector, including high energy costs, deregulation, scrap exports and changes in CBAM policy. He also pointed to consequences for the industry resulting from adjustments to the Green Deal and new priorities of the European Commission.
Ignacy Morawski, Chief Economist at Puls Biznesu, presented an analysis of global economic trends and their impact on industry, as well as possible scenarios for business conditions in the coming months.
During the meeting, we also summarized the activities of the Polish Aluminium Association in 2024 and outlined plans for the coming months.
The aluminium industry faces significant challenges, but also new opportunities requiring cooperation and active participation of all companies.
